Upgrading our blasting

While new tools arrive at the shop just about weekly, a new sanding block or wrench isn’t exactly note worthy. Of course we had a sand blast cabinet, but it was a bit undersized for our needs. It had a nearly non-existent dust collection system. It would leave a mess on the floor. It was time for an upgrade.

It may not be completely new, but “new to us” is good enough, especially when it’s a smoking good Marketplace deal. A good wipe down, replace the glass/screen, fresh powerhead and nozzle, all of which it came with. Replaced the door seal, gave the vacuum system a good cleaning, installed a lot of LED lighting, an upgraded dust trap system, internal blow-gun, and a variable speed shaker. This unit works amazingly!

We also added a new sand blasting and bicarbonate soda blaster to our arsenal, which has been amazing for taking care of those bigger jobs. We no longer need to outsource touch-up blasting or stripping of panels like fenders or door shells.
